With the financial support of WATCH, for a long time, the WATCH organization has been providing financial support to the daughters of women groups’ members who are unable to go school due to their poor financial condition. WATCH organization has been distributing scholarships from the interest amount received from the WATCH Scholarship Fund without the help of any foreign support. WATCH organization has been giving Rs.2,000 cash equivalent to one person and 5 chickens of coiler or local chickens.
From the cash amount, the necessary educational materials should be purchased immediately and the income obtained after raising and selling the chicks should be used in the educational sector. The scholarship amount will be distribute continuously for 2 years.
Due to the corona virus, the scholarship money could not be distributed for 2 years. As the Corona epidemic moderated somewhat, this year 25 female students from Okhaldhunga and 17 female students from Rupandehi have been given scholarships worth at the rate Rs.2000 in cash in the presence of local ward president and women groups’ members. Due to the rainfall, chicken chicks cannot be distributed at the moment, so the chicks will be distribute later. WATCH organization expects that aid money will improve the educational level of students.
